Two New York police officers were shot while on patrol in a public housing project on Thursday night and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said. A suspect was in custody.
The officers were at an apartment building in the Melrose Houses complex in the Bronx when they were shot, Mayor Bill de Blasio’s spokeswoman Karen Hinton said.
One of the officers was shot in the head and the other was shot in an arm, she said.
