#AceNewsReport – Feb.18: Governor’s spokesman, Ataullah Khogyani told Pajhwok Afghan News, #Daesh or Islamic State (IS) militants suffered heavy casualties during a joint Afghan and foreign forces ground and air operation, codenamed Shahin-25 in the district over the past 24 hours.
He said at least 34 #Daesh rebels #killed in Nangarhar operation and 16 injured, with two others detained during the operations. Afghan forces also suffered casualties, he said without giving exact figures.
The 201st Silab Military Corps spokesman, Maj. Sherin Aqa Faqiri said, 80 #Daesh rebels have been killed and 50 others injured since the launch of the operation.
The source said that seven ANA soldiers were also injured during the offensives.
#Daesh militants did not comment about the incidents so far.
