#AceWeatherNews – Mar.14: This is an update from Ace US Reporter on the streets as it happens when it happens:
#Brittius says on the coast, waters are higher than normal; High tide in one hour. Waters at Flood Tide mark (18 inches above normal high tide mark). Winds moderate. Snow moderate. Visibility at 100 feet, but at times, reduced with snow and wind, but nothing serious as of yet.
Full Moon and High Tide, will have a role, aside from the storm.
So far, things are normal. Coastal areas will have four times a year where full moon and high tides are of concern. October, April. Six months apart. Then quarter that to three months. January, and July.
Tides usually will run higher than normal with a bit of street flooding.
Again, the old guard of residents know it is normal. Move cars to higher ground. I have the repair shop inspect my brake lines as the salt water corrodes brake lines, and replacement, is done as precautionary.
Sandbags, placed by door and other spots such as basement windows, to keep water out. Set the bags by slapping to disperse the sand.
These are normal chores on the coast. Just about now, one hour before high tide, streets should have salt water coming over bulkheads.
More as it happens ….
