Arab media reported that over 1,600 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails joined a mass hunger strike on Monday, led by longtime prisoner and Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti.

The hunger strike, which coincided with ‘ Palestinian Prisoners Day ‘ is one of the biggest protests in recent times, with inmates from #Hamas and Islamic Jihad also participating.
