“We are here like the living dead. We go to sleep not knowing if we will live until tomorrow,” says Um Saeed, a Yemeni woman living in the south-western province of Taiz.
The grim fate for thousands of those that disappear face Yemenis daily as systematic kidnapping, torture and imprisonment are being used by both warring sides against political opponents as the rule of law is nowhere to be found in conflict-torn Yemen.
“It was a horrible, horrible experience,” political activist Abdulkader Guneid told The New Arab.
