PHILADELPHIA: Coast Guard suspends search for boater off Helms Cove, N.J. after going missing on Sunday #AceNewsDesk – @AceNewsServices

#AceNewsReport – May.15: The Coast Guard suspended their search for a missing boater after a Penns Grove Police Department officer conducting a shore patrol reported discovering a body, later identified by #police, to be the missing individual, off Helms Cove New Jersey, at approximately 11 p.m., Sunday. #AceNewsDesk

“Our condolences go out to the loved ones of this individual during this difficult time,” said Chief Warrant Officer Jacob Gerasimof, a command duty officer at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay. “It’s truly sad, as a first responder, when cases end tragedy.”

The Coast Guard responded to the report of an overturned boat at 2:17 p.m., Sunday.

Coast Guard assets involved in the search include a 29-foot rescue boat crew from Station Philadelphia and an MH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City to aid in the search.
