#AceNewsReport – May.16: The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced Monday that Levar Washington, age 37, an inmate at United States Penitentiary, Allenwood, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Matthew W. Brann to 72 months’ imprisonment for assault with a dangerous weapon.

Inmate Sentenced To Six Years For Assault With Dangerous Weapon 05/15/2017 12:00 AM EDT in that he attacked another inmate with a sharpened weapon commonly called a “shank.” The victim suffered between 13 and 15 lacerations to his back.

Judge Brann found that the violent nature of the crime together with Washington’s history of convictions for prior crimes of violence qualified Washington as a “career offender” under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, resulting in an enhanced sentence
