WMP: Five arrested in Birmingham murder probe Joel Richards aged 20 was taken to the City Hospital on Sunday 28 May with serious stab wounds and a murder investigation was launched after he died of his injuries.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder from a service station on the M40 at around 7.30pm on 29 May.
Police stopped a car on the M40 motorway near to Oxford, yesterday evening (29 May) and arrested three men and a woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Officers still continue to make enquiries into the death and continue to appeal to the public for information.
Superintendent Tom Chisholm, from the force’s CID, said: “This continues to be a fast paced inquiry and we have made five arrests over the bank holiday weekend. “However, our work is not done and we continue to investigate the circumstances that led to this young man’s death. “We will still continue to liaise with Joel’s family and our thoughts remain with them as they continue to come to terms with their loss.”
