(LONDON) #Brexit Theresa May in Parlament to appease EU-Sceptics once again wins the vote leading to the question of misdirection with the left-hand in Britain and the right-hand in Brussels as people watch events in Tory party, the real truth is happening behind closed doors, the contract is here but the content is still unknown … So watch the right-hand #AceNewsDesk reports

#AceNewsReport – June.21: Theresa May faces down pro-EU rebel lawmakers to win Brexit vote https://t.me/reuters_news/47341 keeping her divided government’s plans to end more than 40 years of British partnership with the European Union on track: After pro-EU Conservative lawmaker Dominic Grieve said he would support the government’s proposal for a “meaningful vote” in parliament on Britain’s exit, a potential rebellion that could have undermined May’s authority was averted #AceNewsDesk reports

May adopted a high-risk strategy by facing off with rebels in her Conservative Party, and it paid off. The upper house of parliament later approved the bill, paving the way for it to become law after gaining formal “Royal Assent” from the Queen:

May said in a statement that the bill’s passage was a crucial step in delivering Brexit, and more details of proposed future links with the EU would be published in the coming weeks: But the battle over the EU withdrawal bill, her Brexit blueprint, may be a taste of things to come. May needs to get several other bills through parliament to prepare Britain for life outside the EU, a momentous change to its trading and political relationships after decades in the bloc.

Some of her opponents on Brexit may simply have decided to keep their powder dry for later fights on issues such as future trading ties and customs arrangements with the bloc before Britain’s scheduled departure in March next year.

Six Conservatives still voted against the government. But for now, May will be relieved to have overcome another potential crisis over her proposal for the role of parliament, should she fail to negotiate an exit agreement with the EU or if lawmakers reject any deal she returns with from Brussels.

“There was a great point of principle here, which was that the government has to be able to be free to negotiate and we have to be able to hold out in our negotiations the prospect of no deal, otherwise all the advantage would have been with the EU side,” trade minister Liam Fox told the BBC.

Other Conservatives agreed. “It strengthens our hand,” said one, while opposition lawmakers described the vote as disappointing.

Sterling rose to a session high against the euro and climbed against the dollar after May won the rare victory, one which will give the weakened prime minister a firmer footing when she travels to Brussels next week for an EU summit.

Talks with the bloc have all but stalled, with May’s top team of ministers at odds over plans for future trading relations with the EU, which businesses complain makes them unable to plan their investment decisions.

ABOUT-TURN

Before his about-turn, Grieve had argued that government promises did not hand parliament enough control to prevent the “chaos” that could follow Britain crashing out of the EU without a deal.

Grieve seemed to have won over several fellow Conservatives but after days of lobbying by party officials, he seemed to have put his concerns aside.

Grieve told the House of Commons he now saw the need to take account of May’s concerns over the state of the negotiations. He also said he had been reassured by a statement saying it was up to the parliamentary speaker to grant lawmakers greater influence over ministers in the event of no deal.

“And in the circumstances that might follow a no deal, which would undoubtedly be one of the biggest political crises in modern British history, if the house wishes to speak … the house has the power to do it,” Grieve said.

With his words, May was able to enjoy victory in a parliament that is stacked against her since she lost her majority at an ill-judged election last year.

But businesses are still seeking more certainty. “My biggest worry about Brexit is that I don’t know what we are planning for,” Juergen Maier, the UK CEO of German engineering giant Siemens told Reuters in an interview.

“We need to put something in place quickly that works and if that is not possible, and until that point, then we have to just default to staying in the customs union.”

#MigrantCrisis Here Are The Photos Of Obama’s Illegal Immigrant Detention Facilities The Media Won’t Show You as the The media and political class become more and more outraged over the Trump administration’s decision to detain and prosecute immigrants illegally crossing the border #AceNewsDesk reports

#AceNewsReport – June.20: Lost in the debate is any acknowledgment that President Obama’s administration also used detention facilities: Current U.S. immigration laws, when enforced, have the consequence of temporarily separating adults who arrive with children into separate detention facilities in order to prosecute the adults.

The policy of prosecuting immigrants for crossing the border illegally has been in place for multiple administrations. The Obama administration prosecuted half a million illegal immigrants and similarly separated families in the process. So did the Bush administration.

Personal accounts from immigration lawyers tell a tale of Obama being equally concerned about unaccompanied minors traveling to the border and wanting to create a deterrent.

Photos of border detention facilities from the Obama-era, taken during 2014, look nearly identical to the ones taken during the Trump era.

You never see them, however. Here they are, taken in 2014 during a media tour of Obama-era detention facilities in Brownsville, Texas, and Nogales, Arizona.

As the Daily Caller previously reported, “Obama administration prosecuted nearly 500,000 illegal immigrants between FY 2010-FY2016. They referred 1/5 of illegals for prosecution, which often resulted in family separations.”

(UNHCR) GLOBAL TRENDS REPORT: Every two seconds, someone in the world was forcibly displaced in 2017, accord ing to a new report by the U.N. Refugee Agency……. Due to wars, violence and persecution, 68.5 million people were forced to flee their homes by the end of 2017 — a record high and a trend that has continu ed for five years #AceNewsDesk reports

#AceNewsReport – June.19: More than half of those displaced, which included refugees, asylum seekers and internally displaced people, were children, many unaccompanied or separated from their parents: Even as 5 million people returned to their country of origin, 16.2 million people were newly displaced around the world last year #AceNewsDesk reports

UNHCR’s Global Trends report found: The vast majority of the displacements affected developing nations, and overwhelmingly consisted of people who fled their homes but remained inside their own country.UNHCR dispelled several incorrect “perceptions” of the global refugee crisis. “Among these is the notion that the world’s displaced are mainly in countries of the Global North: The data shows the opposite to be true — with fully 85 per cent of refugees in developing countries,” the report said, adding, “Four out of five refugees remain in countries next door to their own.”

Just five countries — Syria, Afghanistan, South Sudan, Myanmar and Somalia — accounted for two-thirds of all the world’s refugees, if excluding long-term Palestinians under the U.N.’s care.In 2017, Turkey remained the largest host nation, with a population of 3.5 million refugees, while Lebanon had the greatest number in comparison to its population.“We are at a watershed, where success in managing forced displacement globally requires a new and far more comprehensive approach so that countries and communities aren’t left dealing with this alone,” said Filippo Grandi U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees.

Yet even as the number of people displaced continues to climb, the space carved out for sheltering them has drastically diminished………………….Last year, just 100,000 refugees were resettled, down 40 percent on 2016: https://t.me/acenewsgroup/597063

(LAS VEGAS, Nev.) New police videos of Las Vegas shooting reveal a war zone Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo has said a final report of findings related to the shooting will be released next month #AceNewsDesk reports

#AceNewsReport – June.18: Some of the most graphic and terrifying videos of the mass shooting in Las Vegas were released by police Wednesday — the sixth cache of items connected with the deadly massacre at last year’s country music concert: In one of the videos from a police officer’s body camera, scared and wounded people are triaged on a street and sidewalk. A man walks up to an officer and asks if he can get an ambulance for a woman shot in the lungs #AceNewsDesk reports

“This guy was shot in the head here,” the unidentified officer says, pointing to man by a tree ……….“We’re OK. We’re OK,” two woman say, walking past the officer as he heads toward the man, navigating past people holding wounds. And each other.

https://youtu.be/mktYUxgGxJU

Later in the video, a woman is taken from a pickup truck — her limp body put into a crowded ambulance full of other people. “She’s DOA,” a voice says.

Other body camera videos detail police under fire from Stephen Paddock, the gunman firing from his 32nd floor suite at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Paddock killed 58 and wounded several hundred last Oct. 1, before killing himself.

“I’m trying to get medical,” an officer says moments after gunfire erupted and screams were heard. His camera is obscured partially by some clothing.

“This is what we’ll do … “ he starts to tell people when another volley of gunfire begins — a heavy, steady clacking sound. He ducks down. When the shooting stops, the officer moves to an area of tents where people are running.

One man sprinting, falls and rolls. He looks stunned. Then gets up and takes off again. The officer asks someone to turn off the lights to make it harder for the gunman to see. “Every single light,” he yells.

Moving along a wall, he keeps directing people to run to a safer location.

Then they make a break for it.

“Are you hit?” he asks the first person he sees.

“Is that a gunshot wound?” he asks, leaning down.

He again asks for the lights to be turned down. “So he can’t see us,” the officer says.

They find another wounded person. A woman. “Let’s get her on a grate,” he says.

“Did you get the shooter?” a woman asks while he’s trying to get the wounded woman on the makeshift stretcher.

Voices are raised as a man who says he’s an off-duty police officer asks if he can help. Another is a firefighter. Off-camera, a voice yells out, “Does anybody need a tourniquet?”

More wounded. There’s a man with a spinal injury. The officer tries to figure out how to get a gate open to move people through it. In the background, people stagger and walk through the concert grounds — sometimes directionless.
